Many companies skip out on stem walls, around water softeners and epoxying the garage pole if you have one. Those additions are included in the price. Our team will make sure your floor matches those additions. You are getting the right team for your epoxy needs. He treats every job as if it was his own floor. We are known for our Epoxy Garage Floors primarily and also do airplane hangars, basements, man caves, an additional entertainment space, ect and industrial flooring.
The garage or Industrial space must be emptied out prior to the start of the job. We do epoxy around water softners and cabnets as far as the brush will extemd to. If epoxing around washer and dryer , we ask that you shut off your gas during the installation.
Epoxy chips reduce slip and falls because it gives the floor some texture. Those floors with less chips run a higher risk of slipping. Consider this when choosing your chips when adding it to your base coat. We recommend the epoxy flake system to minimize the slip risk.
There are hairline cracks in expansion joints. We can not fill in expansion joints. They are there to allow the concrete to expand and contract during temperature changes. If these areas where to be epoxied, in time they would be subjected to cracking. Some companies may do them for an extra cost however, we do not encourage this as we already know in time it will eventually happen.
We can provide isolated areas of heavy floor damage with a moisture barrier known as vapor seal. All concrete slabs have some moisture naturally but when the floor is older or has suffered some significant damage then for an additional fee and an extra day of installation would be needed. Process is 3 days upon completion of your floor. These issues usually arise from poor drainage, damage from a stem wall, or surrounding areas such as a planter or leak that slowly over time has damaged the floor. If we feel that the floor would not be cured by a moisture vapor then we would encourage that the customer considers a place to grind their cement floor prior to considering an epoxy installation.
Advanced Epoxology utilizes Commercial Grade product. Our product is polyaspartic with a polyurea top coat. We primer and patch and use 100 percent commercial grade epoxy flake system on the first day and second day, we wrap up with our commercial poly top coat. We offer base coast and you can mix n match the epoxy chips.
The sponge area is located between stem wall and concrete. Most builders typically have them and they range between 8 to 10 inches. This area cant be epoxied due to the fact that the epoxy will not stick to it. If the builder left no sponge area then the space left is a expansion joint and is there to allow for mother natures movement. We can not epoxy over an expansion joint.
On the last day of installation we begin by scraping the loose chips with a broom then followed with the blower. We do our best by making sure we leave no loose chips around. However, you may find a few left in planters, driveways and street. Once that is complete, we will begin the poly final coat for your job completion.
Sewage Cap is a removeable cap that gives access to the sewer line. Not all garages have them as it does depend on the builder. If you have a sewage cap in your garage there is either a plastic type or the brass version. We will epoxy over the plastic type and tape around the brass cap.
Expect a semi rough finish – you will be able to feel the chips through the Poly Clear coat – this is normal as Epoxy flooring is anti-slip resistant – the chips act as the anti-slip agent. THESE floors are NOT supposed to be smooth.
While it is our goal to patch a repair perfectly, there are times in which the product may refect some discoloration such as a lighter or darker shade of the original. This can be do to the material ( new batch) and mixing process. This occurs most common with those garages that were done some time ago. Advanced Epoxolgy provides a Lifetime Warrany and will only charge if the floor was damaged do to an accident caused by the customer.
